sleep data!

It’s always helpful to know the numbers….and remember each child is unique–so while you want to look to stay in the window, watching their behavior during the day, and their sleep during the night, is the true clue to whether or not your kids are getting enough sleep.

Totally cranky? Falling apart? Going 0 to 60 for no apparent reason? Low resiliency? not enough persistence? lack of grit? lashing out? melting down? get them more sleep.

hard time falling asleep? waking during the night? getting up too early or reaaaaaallly hard to wake up? get them more sleep.

here are your numbers as guide posts:

newborns (0 – 3 months)  14-17 hours / 24 hour period.

infants (4-11 months) 12-15 hours / 24.

toddlers (1-2 years) 11-14 hours.

preschoolers (3-5 years) 10-13 hours.

school age (6 to 13 years) 9-11 hours.

older teens (14-17 years) 8-10 hours.

adults (18+) 7-9 hours uninterrupted sleep.

want to work together to get your child more sleep? let’s do it!
